Asset Network Integration Technician
This opportunity is for an Asset Network Integration Technician to join the Fluence Digital EMEA team.
The role will focus on network and data connecting utility scale BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) solutions and utility scale renewable energy generation assets to the Fluence APM (Asset Performance Management) systems.
Fluence Digital customers use the Fluence Digital Asset Performance Management (APM) platform to monitor their renewable assets (Wind, Solar, Hydro and Battery). This enables customers to get the best performance from their assets ensuring minimal downtime and maximum power generation.
Reporting to the EMEA Operations Senior Manager for Digital, the day-to-day activities will consist of, but not be limited to:
Responsible for connecting assets to the Fluence Servers
Coordinating the collection of schema and connection details from clients
Network connection of the asset to the Fluence Servers.
Use of VPNs, Firewalls, Routing, Tunneling etc
Data connection of the asset to the Fluence Servers.
Requesting data from APIs, DBs, SCADA systems (DNP3, MODBUS, IEC104, OPC-UA, OPC DA-XML, OPC-DA etc)
Parsing of received data and injection to Fluence DBs
Reporting to the EMEA digital team on progress and ETAs.
· Problem solving and fault analysis.
· Fault and analysis capture and reporting with tools like Word or PowerPoint
· Supporting the other technical functions in the team
Data import, may require some manipulation
Configuration changes to add user, change access
Asset performance analysis
This role would suit a pragmatic, IT literate individual from an engineering or IT background. Experience in the energy sector or renewable energy sector is desirable but not essential providing the candidate can demonstrate a logical approach to learning and utilising the industry protocols referred to above.
Must be able to demonstrate logical thought, problem-solving skills and be competent in at least 1 programming language or scripting language preferably Python. Must be competent with bash/Linux terminal and relational databases.
This will be a home-based role with the requirement for travel within the EMEA region for training and team meetings.
Must be able to converse fluently with technical content in Spanish and English, other languages a bonus.
