As a Technical Specialist for Chassis Steering Systems, you will help define and deliver steering system components on world leading electric vehicles. You will be a technical leader on the chassis team and guide your colleagues in designing world leading steering systems.
Responsibilities
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $138,000-$198,000

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. Role:
Design and develop steering components from initial concept to PPAP. Components include but are not limited to electronic power steering, steering columns, intermediate shafts and individual steering actuatorsEstablish component and system requirements based on vehicle attribute targets (lateral dynamics, steering feel, crash, strength, durability, stiffness, corrosion, etc.)Propose the steering system technology roadmap for future vehiclesDesign with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detailHelp guide and lead other members of the chassis team in their design of steering components Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possibleCoordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designsManage multiple complex projects in a demanding environmentQualification:
8+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on the steering systemPersonally designed steering component and/or system from concept to PPAPProven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skills Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principlesHands-on practical experience in prototype assemblyExperience in technology, system, and supplier selectionDesign release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experienceTravel domestically and internationally up to 20% if neededAdvantageous:
10+ years of automotive industry experience Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6Ability to run and teach others to use CAE analysis toolsExperience with in-vehicle steering assessment, validation, and tuningExperience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory
Education
BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering
