What You’ll Do:

In the Technical Specialist role you will be responsible for solving difficult cross-functional issues with Archer’s HV battery system. You will perform battery teardowns and root cause analysis - contributing to the development and verification cycle. You will also work closely with the battery design, BMS, cell, and test teams, contributing your expertise to improve future iterations of the battery.

  • Create battery teardown procedures
  • Own the root cause analysis of field failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent future failures
  • Validation of battery requirements
  • Create battery end-of-line test specifications
  • Development of the HV battery DFMEA
  • Contribute to hands-on abuse testing - planning, setup, execution, and analysis
  • Lead HV system optimization studies

What You Need:

  • Masters Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of HV battery experience
  • Hands on experience with HV battery teardowns
  • Experience in battery cell, pack, and abuse development
  • Ability to organize and lead cross-functional efforts 
  • Experience with root cause and/or problem solving methodologies (8D, 5 whys, etc)
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Strong presentation skills

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Aerospace and/or automotive development experience
  • Experience designing fixtures, procuring parts, and assembling test setups
  • Strong data analysis, modeling, and optimization capabilities - MATLAB preferred

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $163,000 - $204,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
