Position Summary:
GIS (Geographic Information System) tools are used in a wide range of industries for a wide range of applications. They enable users to plot data geographically, allowing for analysis of specific regions with respect to various data features. At Antora these tools are used to understand the changing grid and the areas and facilities that are most ideally situated to benefit from Antora’s Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system. We are looking for an intern who is able to take the existing GIS assets at Antora, expand them, and create a toolset of maps and layers that will enable more rapid deployment of our offering.
While it is preferred that the intern has some prior experience with GIS, this is not a requirement and we anticipate that interns will develop their ability in GIS as part of this internship.
Position Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Cleaning
- Organization of existing GIS toolsets
- Research and exploration of how GIS can better be used within Antora
- Documentation of existing and newly developed GIS tools
Key Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of college education in Business, Environmental Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science or a relevant field
- Keen attention to detail
- Advanced analytical thinking ability
- Enthusiasm in addressing climate change
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to learn quickly
Additional Qualifications Desired:
- Some experience in GIS tools
- Some experience with qGIS platform
Hourly Range: $25.00 USD
Salary Basis: Hourly
