About the company:
At Ucaneo we develop a pioneering Direct Air Capture technology. Ucaneo's state-of-the-art electrochemical technology mimics the human lung and how CO2 is managed in the human body. Utilising electricity and a specialised biomimetic solvent, Ucaneo removes atmospheric CO2 at continuous regeneration at room temperature, concentrating CO2 into a pure gas ready for industrial use. The DAC technology is highly energy-efficient and compatible with variable intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, allowing for energy price arbitrage and a flexible, on-demand CO2 removal.
Climate change is a global problem and needs to be tackled at scale. Therefore, we set the goal to capture 0.5 GT of CO2 from the air by 2035 - roughly the same weight as all humans on earth combined!

Your mission
We are looking for a procurement intern with a strong technical background to support our market research, datasheet verification, and compliance checks for equipment and sensors in our First-of-a-Kind (tFOAK) projects. You will work at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and project management, ensuring that the right components are sourced, validated, and cost-optimized for our cutting-edge climate-tech systems.This internship offers a steep learning curve, exposure to real technical challenges, and the opportunity to work closely with engineers and the project management team.
Key points
- Market research: Identify and evaluate suppliers for technical components, test equipment, and services.
- Offer comparison: Support the comparison of technical quotes in collaboration with engineering and project leads.
- Legal and regulatory screening: Check compliance requirements (e.g., CE marking, ATEX, REACH) in coordination with technical experts.
- Cost optimization: Assist in comparing procurement options and preparing decision support materials for investments.
- Supplier interaction: Help draft specifications, reach out to suppliers, follow up on offers, and support vendor selection.
Your profile
Skills and Experience- Enrolled in a technical degree program (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar).
- Looking to complete a compulsory internship (minimum 3 months).
- Enjoy working in a structured and detail-oriented way, especially with technical content.
- Strong German skills (C1+) and English fluency (company language).
- Interested in working at the interface between engineering, procurement, and project management.
- Fast learning and quick to grasp complex topics
- A team player with a hands-on mentality

- Location: Exiting industrial Co-Working Space in Marzahn where we have our own industrial halls to build
