What you will do:
The Software Engineer will primarily serve the data needs of the company’s engineers and scientists, improving the durable storage and access of relevant scientific information.
In this role you will:
- Converse with company stakeholders on data needs
- Coordinate with other data team members to determine priorities
- Develop our internal API
- Build out our web app for data entry
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our internal databases
- Other duties as assigned.
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- Experience with and understanding of relational databases
- Proficiency with SQL and PostgreSQL
- Strong understanding of and ability to work with both vanilla Javascript and Typescript
- Strong knowledge of and experience with Python
- Familiar with the principles of software architecture and design
- Experience programming APIs
- Well-versed in the use of version control software, specifically Git
What we want you to bring to the team:
- Experience with FastAPI or Flask
- Experience with JMP and JSL
- Experience with a front-end framework like NextJS, React, or Svelte
- Proficiency with Python data manipulation and wrangling tools like Pandas
- Prior work with Apache Airflow and other data pipeline tools
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education
