What you will do:
As a Laboratory Technician III, on the Process Development team, you will focus on lab experiments and testing. The role will be to support the analytical team with analysis of elemental components like carbon, sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen in solids and solutions to support our R&D and engineering teams. This is on on-site position in Boulder, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine sample analysis in the turnaround time required
- Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment
- Perform routine chemical analysis using standardized methods and procedures
- Summarize sample results clearly and concisely to other team members
- Assist the analytical team with sample preparation and dilutions as needed
- Perform general laboratory operations such as inventory, safety, clean-up, etc.
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team (Requirements):
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
- Understanding of basic laboratory chemistry principles, especially handling strong acids and bases
- Familiarity with UV/Vis spectroscopy instrumentation, including maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience using balances and single-channel pipettes
- Familiarity with EPA, ASTM or ISO methodologies
- Strong attention to detail
- Accountable for quality and timeliness of own deliverables
- Ability to work on assignments that are moderate in difficulty, coming to a solution by guided, documented processes
- Ability to work independently, requiring instruction only on new assignments
What we want you to bring to the team (Preferred):
- 7+ years of experience
- Experience with elemental analysis – preferably Leco instrumentation including C, S, O, N, and H
- Familiarity with acid digestion procedures and techniques, including hot block, microwave, and fusions
- Ability to mentor more junior technicians without supervisory responsibilities
- Experience with ICP-OES, XRD, or XRF instrumentation
Compensation:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $31-$34 hourly and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education
