Octopus Energy Services is spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the installation of in-home technologies; from smart meters and EV chargers; to low carbon heating, home batteries, solar, and beyond. We deliver smart energy, low carbon solutions for our customers. We’ve fallen head-over-heels with smart meters, heat pumps, solar PV and all renewable tech - which instantly reduce customers' carbon footprint and give them control over their energy use.

Octopus Energy Services is bringing the next generation of smart metre technology to households nationwide as we drive the transition to cheaper, cleaner power accessible by all. Our teams manage the full smart metre installation journey - and you could equip them for excellence.

We now have an opening for an experienced Smart Metering Trainer to create and facilitate industry-leading education programs supporting our fast-growing metre installation workforce across the UK. You'll combine technical know-how with stellar presentation talents to skill crews.

This is a key role for us at Octopus - as we know that opportunity to grow, upskill and develop is one of the most important things to our teams. We need brilliant talent to continue to evolve these training pathways.

In this role, you'll develop and deliver classroom and virtual training covering smart metre components, connectivity troubleshooting, complex in-home set-ups, customer experience best practices and more. Ideally, this person needs to be around the Slough area or willing to travel.

What you'll do

Deliver technical training on smart meter hardware and software

Create virtual simulations reflecting field scenarios

Produce presentations, manuals integrating latest techniques

Stay on top of evolving industry regulations and standards

Assess teams’ understanding; upgrade knowledge accordingly

Gather feedback to enhance training program value

What you'll have

Industry experience with smart meter technology

Exceptional knowledge of meters, networks, cybersecurity

Confident public speaking and cohort facilitation

Passion for renewable tech education

Organised and creative instructional design approach
