About this role:

Heliogen is looking for a Senior People Operations Generalist who has strong business and HR acumen and knows how to achieve results that make a real impact within the company.  You will be required to utilize your problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. 

This is a temporary role.   

  • Are you fully capable of administering benefits to include vendor management, 401(k) administration, and capable of overseeing the filing of 5500s?
  • Are you comfortable with ambiguity and can think outside the box?

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain knowledge of human resource industry trends and new employment related legislation, to recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures that will result in continual improvements in compliance and efficiency of the HR department.
  • Oversee the maintenance, auditing and validation of data within HR systems by: compiling reports from the database; conducting periodic HRIS audits; and working with the HR leadership team to ensure data integrity.
  • Create, generate, analyze, and maintain effective HR reporting, including turnover, headcount, and other key HR metrics to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage the benefit (including health, 401(k), ancillary benefits) administration function to include vendor management and concise communication of benefit plans.
  • Oversee the maintenance, auditing and validation of benefits data within HR systems by: compiling reports from the database; conducting periodic HRIS audits; and working with the HR leadership team to ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the open enrollment process.
  • Lead leave of absence administration to ensure compliance with leave laws and mitigate risk.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as needs arise.

What's essential:

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to demonstrate and handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be willing to take initiative.
  • The desire to learn and go “above and beyond” is an absolute must!
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, established HR practices and procedures
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, federal, state and local employment laws
  • A proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to facilitate training courses
  • Four-year college degree or relevant Human Resources experience
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, with a concentration in Benefits Administration

Desirable:

  • Human Resources Certification (at least PHR and/or SHRM-CP)
  • 2-3 years administering leaves of absence in California
  • Experience in a Public company
  • Experience with Equity Administration
