ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and analytical minded individual to join our team as a Senior Enclosure Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for structural design of Enclosures, design verification using finite element analysis (FEA) method and validating the design for meeting international standards requirement. An ideal candidate will have a broad mechanical engineering background as well as strong proficiency in 3D CAD, FEA and have ability to tackle difficult engineering problems. Experience in Enclosure / cabinet structures, cooling systems, both air cooling and liquid cooling, is also beneficial to our business. The candidate needs to have a strong engineering skill listed below.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform mechanical design, structural analysis using analytical calculations and FEA simulations.
•Execute analysis to determine compliance to seismic requirements, shipping standards, road transportation, fatigue lifecycle study and the enclosure structure to withstand the adverse environment conditions (i.e., high wind, snow and ice loads).
•Experience in structural design codes: EN 1993, ISO 1496, IBC-2018/2021, ASCE 7-16/7-22, ASTM-D1469, IEEE693 and Convention for Safe Containers (CSC-1972).
•Iterate designs based on results from analysis, testing and provide solutions considering various aspects of engineering.
•Awareness of physical test requirement for seismic, sine-wave test along with certification stamping by licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
•Support and provide engineering improvement feedback on design, material selection, cost out design, failure implications and problem resolutions.
•Perform post-test correlations and corroborate the CAE model to test results
•Develop highly predictive models of materials, process, and functionality to match test results.
•Conduct design optimization studies by utilizing optimization tools, including DOE /DFSS techniques on components, sub-assemblies, or on a product-level.
•Write detailed analysis reports for systems and/or components
•Interpret and communicate highly technical information to a diverse audience
•Develop, maintain, and coordinate changes on large assembly FEA models and results within PDM tool
•Work together with external resources such as consultants or test labs in testing various aspects of the product such as environmental testing, seismic testing, and arc flash testing.
•Collaborate and influence with cross functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Software Development, Logistics, Procurement, Project Engineering, and Sales on ensuring successful deployments of Fluence products in large-scale energy storage projects.
•Present design solutions to key stakeholders, defending design decisions, incorporating design feedback into the design cycle.
•Demonstrate Fluence values
