About the Role:

This role will serve as the subject matter expert for equipment specification, selection, and coordination for all Mechanical and Electrical equipment for Data Center Projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical systems and a minimum of general understanding of electrical systems.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Develop and own the standard specifications for central MEP equipment. You will be the author for mechanical equipment specifications and will gather information from the electrical engineering group to co-author electrical specifications.

  • Optimize energy efficiency and sustainability for central mechanical systems.

  • Gather project design needs across multiple projects to develop project-specific bid packages.

  • Drive equipment consistency across projects.

  • Review the available equipment from vendors, and recommend optimal vendor selections.

  • Review proposals from vendors, and level bids on a technical basis.

  • Review and approve submittals / shop drawings to ensure alignment with project needs.

  • Verify that central systems are incorporated into the design, and installed, tested, and commissioned properly.

This role will coordinate tightly with procurement to ensure Owner Furnished (OFCI) equipment is specified, bid, and procured to meet project needs. You will create, edit and own specifications for projects. You will also coordinate with the external design team and engineers to understand the project needs.

Typical equipment consists of:

  1. Chillers, air cooled or water cooled

  2. Dry coolers

  3. Air moving equipment (air handlers, fan walls, CRAC units)

  4. Generators

  5. Main Switch boards (MSBs)

  6. UPS systems

  7. Bus ways

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Extensive experience in design and construction of data centers

  • Deep expertise in either mechanical systems or electrical systems for data centers. General experience in mechanical and electrical equipment is required.

  • Experience in controls systems, creating sequence of operations, power monitoring systems

  • Experience in bidding and procuring central MEP equipment, including bid leveling, and optimizing specification for cost and schedule.

  • Managing large volumes of work across multiple projects

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $190,000 -$220,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
