About the company:
Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.
Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
About This Role:
Join Crusoe as a Senior Project Engineer to lead the strategic greenfield startup of a high-volume manufacturing facility. You will act as a primary technical lead, bridging the gap between our design engineering teams and factory operations.
In this senior-level capacity, you will not just execute installation plans but will own critical aspects of the facility's commissioning strategy, capital equipment selection, and process definition. You will provide expert technical mentorship to junior engineers and ensure our modular integrated buildings and power distribution equipment are manufactured with world-class efficiency, safety, and quality.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Strategic Plant Execution & CapEx Management: Direct the strategic planning and execution of manufacturing floor layouts, equipment installation, and utility infrastructure to scale from zero to high-volume production.
Capital Project Ownership: Own the scope, schedule, and budget for major Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects; manage equipment procurement, negotiate with vendors, and oversee Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).
Advanced Equipment Integration: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for selecting and commissioning advanced manufacturing machinery, ensuring alignment with long-term production goals.
NPI Leadership: Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives on the floor, translating complex "production-ready" 3D models into scalable, repeatable assembly processes.
DFMA & Continuous Improvement: Initiate and direct Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) reviews with design teams to drive cost reduction and efficiency before products hit the line.
Operational Excellence: Create and enforce high-level standards for manufacturing documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions), ensuring strict compliance with regulatory codes and safety standards.
Technical Mentorship: Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior project engineers and manufacturing staff, fostering a culture of precision and quality.
Strategic Change Management: Independently lead the implementation of complex Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), analyzing broad impacts on inventory, tooling, and line balance.
Stakeholder Partnerships: Drive strategic collaboration with Sales, Project Management, and Supply Chain to resolve high-level production challenges.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing, with a proven track record in greenfield plant startups, heavy equipment implementation, or high-volume assembly.
Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead engineering initiatives, manage project portfolios, and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
Technical Expertise: Expert proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) for factory layout planning and fixture design; extensive experience using ERP/MRP software at a strategic level.
Compliance Mastery: Expert knowledge of relevant building/safety codes and standards with the ability to apply them to facility infrastructure.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
Professional Attributes: Exceptional analytical ability for decision-making and a positive track record of seeing complicated, long-term projects through to completion.
Bonus Points:
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP Certification.
Experience in a supervisory role or managing external contractors during a facility build-out.
Benefits:
