The Role

The Reverse Logistics Program Manager will lead and direct all facets of providing and returning SPAN hardware for field service replacements including, but not limited to, directing reverse logistics and inventory management of service stock, forecasting and planning build volumes to support service demand, conducting hardware repair oversight, tracking materials from failure analysis to repair operations, and overseeing return and repair operations spend. This role will work in close collaboration with SPAN’s supply chain, field service, and engineering teams, as well as key contract manufacturing and logistics partners.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and optimizing SPAN’s reverse logistics process. Working closely with the support and services team to ensure a smooth hardware return process for customers that will include the logistics strategy, the vendors, and the routes to optimize for delivery and cost.
  • Coordinating the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process by interfacing with internal customers (service, sales and supply chain teams) ensuring that the expectations of the customer, as well as our internal teams is met in a timely manner.
  • Providing oversight for repair operations to include ensuring quality and product performance specifications are being achieved for units entering service stock finished goods inventory.  Drive continuous improvement to meet SPAN’s needs for repair and refurbishment services.
  • Managing service stock inventory to support RMA demand.  Working with Service Team to calculate the projected service hardware demand requirements, and ensuring the supply chain team and contract manufacturing partner are refurbishing at a rate to support future demand projections considering variables such as sales forecasts, return rates, geographies, BOM cost, and product revisions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program execution success.
  • Drive operational improvement through use of KPIs to optimize and reduce overall end-to-end reverse logistic cycle time and inventory cost.
  • Coordinating logistics for units going into and from failure analysis, scrap and refurbishment.
  • In the event of required product recalls, take the lead by planning and coordinating with cross-functional teams and mapping a sound execution plan to ensure minimal customer disruption and optimal efficiency for Span.

About You

Required Qualifications

We are seeking a very capable program manager for reverse logistics:

  • 5+ years of well-rounded experience in various logistics, supply chain and service hardware functions.
  • BA or BS in logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with service replacement, repair, and reverse logistics in the consumer electronics industry or equivalent.
  • Ability to project manage and scale operations for a rapidly growing customer base.
  •  Familiarity with well known ERP/Logistics/supply chain software.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Strong cross functional collaboration. This role will interface with multiple internal functions including but not limited to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Finance, and Legal.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem solve.
  • Advanced experience in spreadsheets and similar analysis/planning tools.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.

 

Bonus Qualifications

We would love to hire someone who has:

  • Knowledge of electronic component manufacturing, assembly processes, and quality.
  • Experience working at a startup and in new product launch environments.
  • Background working with contract manufacturing companies (in the US and offshore), as well as cross border logistics.
