About the company:

44.01 is a carbon removal company that specializes in accelerating the natural geological process of mineralization to permanently eliminate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The company dissolves CO2 into water and injects it into peridotite rock formations, where it reacts chemically to form stable carbonate minerals, effectively locking the carbon away forever. The company takes its name from the molecular mass of CO2, reflecting its core mission to transform carbon dioxide from a climate threat into an opportunity for a new industry.

About The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager / Project Lead to deliver integrated CO₂ mineralisation projects, starting with a UAE-based project involving CO₂ capture from a wastewater source, liquefaction, transport, and permanent storage.
This is not a conventional EPC role. You will lead a multi-stakeholder, interface-heavy project, coordinating across CO₂ suppliers, transport logistics, utilities, and subsurface injection systems.
You will act as the single point of integration, ensuring all project components align technically, commercially, and on schedule. The role requires balancing technical depth, project management discipline, and stakeholder alignment in a highly integrated and evolving project environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery from feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Act as the integration lead across all workstreams, including:
    • CO₂ capture and supply
    • CO₂ transport and logistics
    • Water pipeline infrastructure
    • Grid connection and utilities
    • Injection and mineralisation systems
  • Define and manage interfaces across all stakeholders
  • Drive delivery of critical infrastructure, particularly water pipelines and utility connections
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and risk registers, ensuring proactive mitigation of key risks
  • Monitor contractor performance, procurement, and supply chain execution
  • Ensure strong HSSE performance across all project activities
  • Lead coordination with external stakeholders, including CO₂ suppliers, logistics providers, utilities, EPC contractors, and regulators
  • Support contracting strategy, scope definition, and variation management across project packages
  • Manage alignment across stakeholders with differing technical, commercial, and schedule priorities
  • Contribute to early-stage project development, including option evaluation and scope definition under uncertainty
  • Lead stage-gate reviews and ensure alignment on key milestones
  • Provide clear reporting and updates to senior leadership
  • Be willing to spend time on-site during construction and commissioning phases

Who You Are

  • 12+ years of experience delivering multi-disciplinary industrial or infrastructure projects (energy, CCUS, oil & gas, or similar)
  • Proven track record in interface-heavy, multi-stakeholder project environments
  • Strong experience in at least one of the following:
    • Pipeline Projects
    • Industrial plant projects
    • Utilities and grid connections
  • Experience managing interface risks across multiple contractors or partners
  • Strong understanding of project controls, risk management, and contractor coordination
  • Commercial awareness, including experience with contracts, scope management, and variations
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments
  • Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in the Middle East (UAE preferred) is a strong advantage
  • Experience in CCUS or CO related projects is desirable
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus

What's in it for you?

  • A competitive salary and an opportunity to have a stake in the business
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Exposure to first-of-a-kind carbon removal projects
  • A high-impact role in a fast-growing climate tech company
  • Opportunity to work across multiple geographies and projects
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team environment
