44.01 is a carbon removal company that specializes in accelerating the natural geological process of mineralization to permanently eliminate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The company dissolves CO2 into water and injects it into peridotite rock formations, where it reacts chemically to form stable carbonate minerals, effectively locking the carbon away forever. The company takes its name from the molecular mass of CO2, reflecting its core mission to transform carbon dioxide from a climate threat into an opportunity for a new industry.
