 What you will do:

The Procurement Specialist II will primarily support the company’s procurement and quality processes, especially by developing new relationships with prospective suppliers and acting as liaison between internal engineering and technology teams with suppliers. Responsibilities include:

  • Negotiate purchase agreements, lead-times, cost and quality with vendors, and evaluate procurement strategies for efficiency and value to Electra
  • Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their ability to meet technical and quality requirements
  • Processes requisitions into procurement activities for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing technical products and components
  • Routinely follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of purchase orders and consistently communicate status of purchase orders to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance improvement and resolve any technical or quality-related issues
  • Cultivate and support new vendor relationships through reliability, product quality, and cost efficiency
  • Manages select strategic sourcing activities in procurement consisting of soliciting bids, analyzing supplier responses, and making recommendations on supplier awards
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality of delivered product, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in the creation of internal procurement SOPs
  • Assist Quality and Procurement teams with supplier compliance requirement activities
  • Other duties as assigned

What we need you to bring to the team:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • 3 years of experience in procurement or sourcing in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of technical product specifications and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of contracts and contract management
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time

Compensation:  

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
