More about the team you will be joining as the People Operations Coordinator 

Our People Team mission is to build the foundations, enhance our culture and unlock the potential of our people. People Operations are at the heart of the People Team where we manage the whole employee lifecycle from the day someone joins, to the day they leave, making sure our talented people have the best experience possible. The People Operations Coordinator will be crucial in providing a great experience for our people whilst supporting the People Operations team to deliver its goals.

What success will look like for the People Operation Coordinator 

This role will serve as the first line triage to all queries to the People team, close to the action of multiple areas of the People function with exposure to a breadth of specialisms.  In this role you will: 

  • Provide brilliant customer service to our people, ensuring a great people experience at Vertical  
  • Manage our People Team inbox, providing key information in a timely manner 
  • Lead administration for People Operations and wider team, with the opportunity to get involved in a broad spectrum of projects across reward, talent acquisition and the generalist space 
  • Own our People System – ensuring an accurate single source of truth for employee data
  • Help to provide data to generate insight for the team
  • Support with process development, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations  
  • Prepare paperwork as required to support the employee lifecycle  
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate monthly processing
  • Be an ambassador for our company values and culture

We seek a unique individual, keen for a challenge and excited by the opportunity to join a business at a critical point in the evolution of the people strategy. A career background in fast paced, start-up environments would be particularly advantageous, together with an interest in green technology and/or aviation. You will need: 

  • Brilliant customer service experience with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business at different levels 
  • Prior experience working in a People function with an understanding of general HR practices 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Highly organised with the ability to balance multiple priorities – tenacity to thrive in an environment with changing priorities 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Discretion, managing sensitive information day to day
  • Courage to challenge the status quo –with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Good experience using spreadsheets and other Microsoft programmes
  • Experience using people systems is essential

In the UK we have two offices and a Battery facility in Bristol, an office in London and a site in Kemble with well stocked free kitchen provisions including hot drinks, fruit and breakfasts every weekday. Our typical full time working week is 37.5 hours.
