The operations engineer for the aircraft integration & maintenance team will be responsible for supporting
aircraft development through logistics management, documentation, and coordination with all engineering
teams. You will work closely with engineers, maintainers, and technicians to manage aircraft configuration,
airworthiness, modification implementation, testing, and operations related to all flight test vehicles.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Coordinate modifications to experimental aircraft and systems integration testing and development
  • Organize and drive modification and maintenance/inspection timelines to support company objectives
  • Coordinate with Flight Test engineers, test pilots, and engineering teams to ensure aircraft is configured properly for flight tests
  • Organize and maintain aircraft configuration documentation
  • Collect, organize, and distribute information needed to perform modifications, maintenance and inspections of aircraft
  • Assist mechanics in performing modifications, maintenance, and inspections on aircraft
  • Assist in performing, organizing, and documenting troubleshooting and repair activities
  • Support data collection to inform aircraft development and follow-on flight testing
  • Drive process and communication improvements to increase operational effectiveness and decrease aircraft downtime
  • Support the development of our Maintenance program
  • Given that this role is primarily R&D, it is very dynamic and is subject to evolve over time
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • B.S.  or M.S. in an engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Willing and able to travel for work domestically and internationally
  • Hands-on experience working with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and commitment to objectives and responsibilities
  • Adept at interpreting and understanding engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Experience working with internal and external vendors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain positive and mitigate risk when course corrections are required
  • Google G-suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts; Slack
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Experience managing aircraft operations and maintenance 
  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced aerospace R&D environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (mechanical design, electrical design, software, quality, supply chain, certification, manufacturing, operations, etc).
  • Experience authoring technical publications (maintenance/repair manuals, work instructions, engineering reports)
  • Experience interfacing with flight test organizations or programs
