The Role:

You will be part of the Business Development team and report directly into the Head of Network Development. You will work closely with the VP Business Development as well as other members of the Sales, Infrastructure, Government Relations/Public Affairs, Business Marketing and Airline Operations teams. Your contribution will be key for Lilium’s go-to-market strategy, ensuring the establishment of ground-based flight operation infrastructure networks.

Our Business Development team is responsible for the commercialisation of Lilium, determining our go-to-market strategy, negotiating partnerships to enable our growth, and establishing a foothold in target markets prior to first operations. In the Network Development team, we define and execute the network strategy, working with our commercial partners to establish the required infrastructure network.

We support our commercial partners in the design, permitting and construction of landing infrastructure for the launch of their service. This includes strategic and conceptual responsibilities such as the definition of the infrastructure products as well as hands-on end-to-end project management work such as the support of initial discussions, the definition of target routes and the assessment of target infrastructure models, including their commercial and operational viability. The goal is to have a fully functioning infrastructure network for the launch of a service with the Lilium jet in the chosen locations, building a network of pads for flight operations around the world.

Additionally, you have a role of technical sales support regarding the Lilium Jet and its environment.

Your Day to Day:

  • Support the development of the commercial strategy by assessing, prioritizing, and advancing new and established markets
  • Take full ownership of developing and advancing infrastructure network models within EMEA, each containing multiple infrastructure projects
  • Work with Sales, Business Marketing, Infrastructure, and Airline Operations teams to define service offering use cases and infrastructure products
  • Develop proposals for landing infrastructure around the globe and lead partnership contract negotiations
  • Establish project plan, specifications, dependencies, design, in accordance with local standards (e.g., GCAA, ICAO, ...) and execute infrastructure partnerships working closely together with other corporate teams
  • Establish a project controlling and manage projects to time and budget
  • Assess and manage project risks and opportunities
  • Steer and oversee the co-development of various sites
  • Provide technical support to sales

Your Profile:

  • 3-7 years related experience with a proven track record developing and project manage relevant projects in aeronautics or infrastructure of USD 100k to 10M
  • Experience in a Tier 1 firm (management consulting or investment banking) and/or aviation/airports industry or a high-paced technology environment
  • Proven track record of rapid, on time/budget execution at highest project management standards
  • Strong academic background especially in economics, engineering, architecture, and/or law a plus
  • Sound commercial orientation
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (German language skills a strong plus, French and Spanish a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able and comfortable working in a developing, fluid and constantly changing company, as well as handling multiple priorities while constantly meeting deadlines
