As we work to bring our revolutionary aircraft to the masses, we are hiring our first General Manager for the APAC Region. Reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer, you’ll build on and develop our presence in the region. Your work will ultimately drive the success of our larger commercialization strategy and make Archer the global leader in eVTOL.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and execute Archer’s APAC go-to-market strategy in line with global priorities, with a near-term focus on building upon existing engagements
- Own the P&L and all KPIs for the entire APAC region, ensuring that Archer achieves growth and profitability goals
- Deepen and expand Archer’s local presence in these markets by advancing current partnerships, stakeholder relationships, and regulatory discussions.
- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with airlines, airport operators, government stakeholders, and infrastructure providers across the wider APAC region.
- Lead commercial discussions and structuring of joint ventures, pilot programs, and long-term agreements.
- Coordinate with regulatory and policy teams to support type certification, operational approvals, and airspace integration.
- Represent Archer at key regional events, forums, and with governmental agencies across APAC.
- Work cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing, and legal teams to align commercial strategy with execution.
- Drive local marketing and demand generation in collaboration with our global commercial team
- Monitor market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional policy developments that may impact Archer’s success.
- Support new team onboarding and future leadership transition within APAC as markets mature
What you need:
- 10+ years of total experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a high-growth technology startup or proven track record in business development/commercial strategy in aviation, aerospace or advanced mobility.
- Track record of building from 0 to 1 and beyond in ambiguous environments where there is no established playbook
- Analytical and financial ability to run a P&L
- Policy and regulatory knowledge that will allow us to scale operations in the market
- Crossfunctional ability to work with our core business units including engineering, operations, and executive leadership
- Live in Asia, ideally in Singapore or another key APAC hub, and travel up to 25% of the year to HQ and/or other markets
- Fluency in English required; additional Asian language skills (e.g., Japanese or Korean) a strong plus.
Bonus Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced STEM degree
- Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry
- Previously launched and scaled a business unit within a specific geography
- Deep knowledge of and existing relationships within the APAC region
- Early career experience in management consulting and/or investment banking
- Experience in a city- or region-level GM at a tech business like Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc
