Legal Counsel (f/m/x)

Every day at ecoligo we work to fight the climate crisis, bringing solar energy to businesses in countries like Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam, Philippines, Chile, Panama and Costa Rica amongst others through the ecoligo crowdinvesting platform. We own and manage each energy project allowing us to deliver both environmental and economic returns. Our crowdinvestors earn a solid financial return, and our solar clients get an energy provider that is fairer, more affordable and more efficient. Our quickly growing international team is looking for a Legal Counsel (f/m/x) to manage our legal topics. Our ideal candidate is ready to take full ownership managing legal topics from A to Z in a fast-paced environment in different countries. You combine your commercial law background with excellent communication skills. You have the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions. As a legal allrounder you come with strong organizational and time management skills. In this role you will:

• Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives on a wide range of legal topics, including regulations, compliance, labour law, partnerships, capital markets, and corporate finance.
• Draft and finalize agreements, contracts, statements, and other legal documents to safeguard the company’s legal rights.
• Engage in communication and negotiation with and offer legal counsel in relation to contractual relationships with clients, partners, regulators, investors, external counsels, and public authorities.
• Anticipate and manage legal risks arising from the business strategy and operations and develop effective defence strategies.
• Apply effective risk management techniques and provide proactive advice on potential legal issues.
• Establish internal governance policies and ensure regular compliance monitoring.
• Support with legal counsel in relation to the development of financial products to be offered to retail and institutional investors.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external counsel on litigation, legal advice, and other legal matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a legal counsel or in a similar role, with a focus on commercial law and contracts.
• Sound knowledge of legal principles and practices, including regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of the financial and/or renewable energy industry is desirable but not required.
• Fluent in German and English.
