Your role and your team:

The Maintainability Intern will be part of Engineering Services team and will report to the Lead Maintainability Engineer and work closely with several cross-functional teams including Chief Engineering, Design engineers, Manufacturing engineers, Maintenance team and Technical Publications. As a fully integrated member of the team, you will support document maintenance and supportability reports and will be part of building our Maintainability program that will define the maintenance of Lilium Jets in the future.

The Maintainability team plays a critical role in ensuring our Design team achieves the requirement to design the Lilium Jet with less maintenance burden, thereby less lifecycle cost.

Your Day to Day:

  • Provide support to drive “Design for Maintainability & Serviceability” for all systems and components of the Lilium jet
  • Work with aircraft engineering and manufacturing team to provide maintainability guidance to design the aircraft for maintenance
  • Assist maintenance engineering in process development and maintenance programmes
  • Identify maintenance actions to mitigate failures in operations, and support build the maintenance program plan
  • Perform and document Maintenance & Supportability Reports for Design Reviews and represent all maintenance and supportability aspects
  • Support development of future maintenance programmes and Ground Service Equipment (GSE) programmes
  • Support the development of the content for Aircraft & Component Maintenance Manuals, Maintenance Planning Document in collaboration with the Technical Publications Department

Your Profile:

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a university program. i.e Bachelor/ master’s degree in mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Experience in the field of aircraft maintenance, design or manufacturing is advantageous
  • Highly energetic and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Experience in programming of database management is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of aircraft maintenance requirements, planning and material requirements
  • Understanding of airworthiness standards and legislation (EASA Part 21, Part M and Part 145 and related FAA regulations), MSG3 and Aircraft Maintenance Programs is advantageous
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
