About the company:

Charm Industrial is working to return the atmosphere to 280 ppm CO₂. We design, build and operate a fleet of mobile fast pyrolyzers that convert ag and forest biomass residues into bio-oil for use in carbon removal and direct-reduced-iron steelmaking.

In 2020 our Chief Scientist and co-founder Shaun Meehan had two breakthroughs (bio-oil intermediate and bio-oil sequestration) that kickstarted the company. Within 10 months we completed our first carbon removal injection and in 2021 we completed more than 5,000 tons of CO₂e removal for customers like Stripe, Shopify and Microsoft.

If the idea of running pumps, valves, and forklifts to help bury carbon underground gets your heart pumping (pun intended), then this role might be calling your name. Charm Industrial is hiring hands-on, detail-obsessed Injection Operators to join our Louisiana operations and help scale permanent carbon removal!

What’s In It For You:

Competitive pay: $21–$26/hour depending on experience.
Fully paid health coverage: We cover 100% of your medical premiums because staying healthy shouldn’t come at a cost.
Stock options: You're not just clocking in—you’re investing in the future of carbon removal.
401(k) with matching: We match 50% of contributions up to 6%—save for the future while you help save the planet (after 1 year of service with no additional vesting periods after that).
Paid time off & parental leave: Recharge with time off and take care of what matters most.
Annual professional development stipend: We pay you to keep learning, because curiosity is part of the job.
On-site perks: Healthy snacks and subsidized lunches—because solving climate change works up an appetite.
Big mission, real impact: Be part of a company literally burying carbon underground—on purpose, and at scale.

How You Stand Out:

Experience & Background:
• Hands-on experience around heavy machinery—whether that’s pumps, tractors, forklifts, or other mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical tools; bonus if you’ve worked in oilfield ops, ag, or other equipment-heavy industries.
• Experience with site operations—loading/unloading tankers, handling fluids, or monitoring system performance.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, to keep 24/7 operations moving.

Skills & Traits:
• You don’t just operate equipment—you listen to it. You notice the hum, the vibration, the “something feels off.”
• Safety-first mindset, with a knack for spotting issues before they become problems.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and documenting learnings to share with teammates.
• You think in systems, plan for the unplanned, Adaptable, resourceful, and proactive—ready to jump in and get things done.
• Strong back, steady hands, and stamina for ladders, tight spaces, and outdoor shifts.

Bonus Points
• Class A CDL.
• 5+ years in oilfield drilling, production, or refining.

Your Role in Action:

Site Operations:
• Run the injection infrastructure—pumps, valves, tanks, and automated equipment—like a pro.
• Keep an eye on flow, pressure, and temperature; respond quickly when alarms or issues arise.
• Unload tanker cars of bio-oil and brine safely and efficiently.
• Collect, analyze, and prep samples for shipment.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
•  Perform routine maintenance and work with vendors when bigger fixes are needed.
•  Troubleshoot downtime, capture learnings, and share with your team to make systems stronger.
•  Operate powered equipment like forklifts, telehandlers, and personnel baskets to keep the job moving.

Safety and Continuous Improvement:
•  Maintain a clean, safe worksite—gear picked up, procedures followed, improvements suggested.
•  Record operational data for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV).
•  Provide input to R&D and fabrication teams, directly influencing the next generation of designs.

Why Charm:

At Charm Industrial, we’re not just talking about reducing wildfires, improving agricultural soil, health and fighting climate change—we’re actually doing it. Our technology converts excess biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil and injects it underground for permanent carbon removal. It’s bold. It’s scalable. And it’s working.

We’ve already removed thousands of tons of CO₂, and we’re just getting started! Our customers include names like Microsoft, Shopify, and Stripe, and our team includes creative, gritty people who thrive on innovation, ownership, and mission. We take our mission seriously, but not ourselves—expect weird biomass moments, silly machine names, and a lot of joy in doing hard things together.

This isn’t your typical industrial job. It’s boots-on-the-ground climate work. If you’ve ever wanted a role where turning a valve helps save the planet, this is it!
