Your Impact as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor (II or III) - APAC:
You will oversee project implementation of the Energy Vault Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System (MS) and related policies, procedures, guidelines and work practices. You will manage compliance with Energy Vault requirements, applicable legislation, regulations, codes and standards, as well as with company objectives and targets.
Utilizing your HSE experience in renewable energy and on construction sites of electrical facilities, you will assist the project team to ensure the requirements of the Workplace/Site HSE Rules are implemented and, where required, stop work to enable unsafe conditions or potential for harm to the environment to be rectified.
You will spend your working hours, Monday through Friday, on the construction site close to Armidale, NSW. Our systems take 6-24 months to build. This opening is expected to be a 14-month contract.

Your Mission:
Prioritize health, safety, and the environment first and foremost in all business reviews and decisions. Endorse the vision that every incident is preventable, and make consistent with the Energy Vault vision of Incident & Injury Free workplaces.Lead by example and speak up/intervene when at risk situations or conditions are observed.Continually hold yourself and those you interact with accountable for health, safety and environment outcomes.Report all incidents of injury, near miss, potential for environmental harm, plant damage, or other adverse conditions or outcomes as soon as you are aware of the incident.Guide and coach project personnel in understanding and implementing HSE plans and the Energy Vault MS.Assist in the development of a project specific HSE Management Plan and related sub-plans, impacts and hazards risk assessment and other supporting documents. Participate in accreditation or certification audits for designed projects or related workplaces and work with the Head Office Service Function for HSE to ensure certification and accreditation is achieved and maintained. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of hazardous substances, dangerous goods, plant and equipment, lifting gear and other registers as determined in the HSE Management Plans.Conduct regular check-ups on equipment such as mobile plant, cranes, scaffolding, and electrical equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and safe to use.Train and oversee workers on safety procedures and practices to prevent injuries or accidents.Assist with the development of an Emergency Response Plan for the workplace including a first aid risk assessmentAssist in the establishment and maintenance of a project document filing system consistent with the requirements of the Energy Vault HSE MS.Assist in the review of safe work method statements and related documents for high-risk construction work activities provided by contractors prior to the commencement of work.Facilitate the dissemination of health safety environment information to all relevant personnel.Assist in the investigation and formal reporting of incidents involving injury, near miss, damage to plant and equipment or environment harm and ensure that appropriate and timely action is initiated to prevent recurrence. Undertake daily/monthly inspections/audits of designated work areas to assess compliance with relevant standards and project HSE plans.Ensure that HSE deficiencies identified in: workplace inspections and audits; incidents; are corrected in a timely manner to prevent recurrence. Monitor corrective actions implemented as a result of incidents, non-conformities or other deficiencies to ensure the effectiveness of such actions to prevent recurrence. Assist in developing a written corrective action plan(s) to eliminate any deficiencies identified from any workplace audit by an internal or external third party. Participate in the resolution of any disputes, which may arise over workplace HSE issues.Participate in toolbox talks, briefings, or other consultative forums for environment, health and safety matters.Assist in ensuring an effective HSE Committee at the workplace.Assist the Construction Manager to ensure the requirements of the Workplace/Site HSE Rules are implemented and where required, stop work to enable unsafe conditions or potential for harm to the environment to be rectified.Communicate incident occurrences, in particular those involving emergency services and regulatory authority attendance at the workplace, to project/workplace management personnel immediately on becoming aware of the incident.Assist in learning and development planning and implementation including planning the facilitation of learning and development and assessments for project team.Ensure critical incident data and business reportable data is entered/communicated in stipulated time frames Ensure timely reporting of HSE performance data for designed projects Review emergency response preparedness and inspection of fire and other related emergency response equipment and assist with emergency response evacuation drills and their evaluation.Monitor and assist with fire integrity and fires systems complianceImplement the requirements of alerts, lessons learnt, and other information provided by the QHSE Manager – APAC, or Head Office Service Function for HSE. Where requested, participate in the assessment of tenders submitted by contractors and other suppliers and their ability to comply with the HSE conditions outlined in the contract and prequalification requirements outlined in the Energy Vault MS.In consultation with the QHSE Manager – APAC assist in the management of, and project/workplace related to Worker’ Compensation claim, return to work, and injury management program.Implement timely reporting of potential or actual workers’ compensation claims to relevant partiesYour Background:
