Jaro Fleet Technologies is a well-funded (GGV, Lerer-Hippeau, Maersk, et al) early-stage startup led by EV expert Joe Miler (ex-Apple Special projects, Lucid, MIT, Stanford). Jaro is in stealth commercializing an industry-first biz model to beat diesel semi-trucking on $/mile. The model uses renewable energy assets and commodity EV technologies in a novel configuration to drive enormous cost savings and scalability. Today, commercial solar is 10x cheaper than diesel on a $/mile basis and yet diesel continues to dominate. Jaro aims to change this.

Role
Jaro is hiring a Head of Strategic Partnerships to own all commercial partnerships required to deploy and scale our industry-first electric trucking services. This role will define and structure a new category of electrification services to overcome industry scaling obstacles and enable Jaro to deliver electric trucking that beats diesel on its key KPI: dollar/mile. This is a founding team role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Rapidly engage and evaluate a broad variety of renewable energy providers to select the best scaling partners for Jaro’s unique business needs
  • Structure, negotiate, and deploy a new class of commercial power purchase agreements
  • Build and manage strategy for driving cost reductions on primary company KPI: dollar/mile 
  • Collaborate closely with CEO 
  • Travel: ~10-20%

  • Role Qualifications

  • Excellent track record (7+ years) building partnerships to scale innovative technology offerings
  • Good working knowledge of solar industry players, or ability to rapidly build this knowledge base
  • Experience estimating and managing full-stack costs of technology-enabled services 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
  • Excels in both team-based collaboration and autonomous work
