We are looking for a student intern to support Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing of grid interactive inverters for utility scale energy storage systems. In this role, you will gain practical and technical experience on cutting-edge energy storage technologies while working closely with industry experts to simulate, analyze and troubleshoot complex systems from inverter control board level to large scale site level controls.

Your Mission:
Perform design verification tests of grid interactive inverters in the HIL platformWork with internal and external teams to determine system requirements and verify our solution will meet and exceed project requirementsYour Background:
Current Master’s or Ph.D. student with research focus on grid interactive inverters with solid power systems/power electronics backgroundDeep technical knowledge of grid-forming and grid-following invertersExperience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, preferably OPAL-RT or other platforms such as Typhoon and RTDS Experience with designing, testing, analyzing, evaluating high power and voltage power electronics systemsExperience in testing inverter control board gate drivers and protection circuits Strong interest in renewable energy and energy storage industry
