The Australia Finance Director, here after ‘AFD’, will report to APAC Chief Financial Officer and will serve as a true business and strategic partner to the Regional Leadership team.
 
The AFD will be responsible for assessing financial results, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, providing a controlled and compliant environment, ensuring optimal cash management, co-managing the Treasury and Australian banking relationships and guaranty requirements.
 
Importantly, the AFD will look to optimize areas of growth and lead with a strategic mindset.
The AFD is responsible for quantifying risks and articulating the financial implications of those in Australia and be able to provide routine reports on such implications.
 
The AFD will demonstrate a collaborative management style and consistently provide responsive communication to business leadership regarding Australian areas of the finance function.

As the Australian Finance Director, you:

  • Own the Income Statement and Balance Sheet for Australia.
  • Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasting and financial modelling.
  • Collaborate with local Controller(s), global teams, and APAC FP&A team to drive results analysis and articulate margin, revenue and variance transactions.
  • Serve as an advisor to the APAC team regarding Australia fiscal matters of the company, including tax and compliance with local, state, and federal accounting and IFRS regulatory obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations with the output.
  • Advise on contracts, into which the company may enter, from a financial and business perspective collaborating with Sales and Commercial finance.
  • Co-Manage with Treasury team & CFO Australian banking relationship, cash flow management, credit lines, credit card policy, and funding requirements.
  • Oversee and manage preparation and reviews of regulatory tax reporting requirements, payroll, GST, Income Corporate and all.
  • Support global & regional initiatives on outsourcing Backoffice functions such as of AP, AR & payroll.
  • Drive local initiatives to support Global SOX requirements.
  • Be prepared to act as signatory Director for the country.
  • What will you bring to the company?

  • More than 15 years of broad financial leadership, with an accounting degree and preferred to have MNC/corporate finance experience.
  • Several years of management experiences in APAC, understanding the unique cultural nuances of multiple Asian countries is ideal.
  • Broad financial leadership experience including accounting, treasury, regulatory reporting, tax, FP&A, risk and M&A.
  • Experience partnering or interacting with an executive leadership team and or a board of directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and drive rapid change and be a supportive contributor to progressive thinking and growth.
  • Experience within or exposure to clean energy is desirable.
  • Demonstrates strong commercial instincts and ensures structure and accountabilities are aligned with drivers and desired outcomes of the business.
  • Strong business partner with analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model, analyzing data to drive financial and operational improvements across an enterprise.
