We are seeking an individual deeply passionate about sustainable investing and ESG matters, with exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, to join our expanding team in London, UK. This role is vital for advancing our integrated approach to sustainable investing, in a regulatory environment that requires our methods to be both quantifiable and rigorous. You will play a key role in ensuring we deliver on our promises, maintaining transparency with investors, and effectively narrating our sustainability journey. This position will support our efforts in providing best-in-class portfolio and asset management, as well as in producing accurate investor reporting and disclosures.

What you'll do

  • Support on assessing potential new investments against our ESG requirements for renewable energy infrastructure to ensure ESG risks are mitigated, obligations met and opportunities for driving impact are identified. This includes ensuring data requirements are included in contractual negotiations.
  • Enhance and support the delivery of our system for the aggregation and analysis of ESG data across renewable energy investments, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards (e.g. SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD). Your role will involve driving a re-defined systemised approach that meet the needs of a scaling business.
  • Understand carbon footprint calculation methodology and data gathering to produce scope 1, 2 and 3 information for our funds.
  • Support the analysis of investments under the EU Taxonomy, conducting comprehensive Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments for current and potential investments to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for ESG-related value creation.
  • Use information to form exciting and interesting stories in the form of case studies to our investors as well as contributing to investor annual and quarterly reports through ESG metrics and regulatory disclosures.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects with broad applications, including but not limited to investor questionnaires, investor presentations, ESG due diligence processes, policy revisions, and the preparation of award submissions.
  • Work with counterparties on ideas for asset level impact initiatives e.g. Biodiversity projects, Community projects.
  • Always look for more efficient or better ways of achieving our goals and not be afraid of challenging the status quo
  • What you'll need

  • A genuine interest in renewables, environment, net zero and/or sustainability with 1 to 5 years work experience in ESG and/or sustainable finance.
  • Familiarity and interest in sustainability frameworks and third-party guidelines (SFDR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, SASB, UN SDG, PRI, etc)
  • Previous experience of carbon foot printing/ preparing climate risk assessments would be advantageous.
  • Numerate and data driven. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills with accurate and exceptional attention to detail with experience of working with data sets.
  • Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Capable of preparing clear and concise reports and presentations that articulate insights to a variety of audiences including investors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
  • Highly organised with a high work rate, able to thrive in a busy environment juggling multiple competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously and as a team player.
  • Proactive, approachable and friendly manner. Persuasive and persistent to get the data we need.
  • Flexible in approach and able to support others as necessary.
