About the role
We are seeking an experienced Equipment OperatorConstruction to operate and control light and heavy equipment on Energy Vault Energy Storage System projects. You will control, operate, maintain and be responsible for equipment at the direction of project site construction management and supervision.  You will have, hold and maintain any necessary licensing and training to operate equipment as required.   
 
You will spend most of your working hours, Monday through Saturday, on the construction site in the USA. Our systems take 6-24 months to build. Energy Vault covers the travel, food, and other miscellaneous expenses on a project by project basis determined by geographic location.

What you will do

  • Lead & champion site equipment and overall site safety by example and assist site supervision in safety culture compliance and enhancement.
  • Attend meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
  • Train new crew members in the safe operation of equipment.
  • Oversee site equipment operations, lead and coordinate all equipment operators and equipment tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Operate different equipment for various jobs such as clearing & grubbing, road building, foundation preparation, excavation and compaction, facility erection, delivery loading and offloading.
  • Observe, stage and ensure the safe distribution of concrete and other materials.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner to ensure proper maintenance of machinery.
  • Use specialized equipment such as cranes.
  • Check equipment on a regular basis and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required.
  • Inspect and facilitate regular preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform regular safety checks on equipment.
  • Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
  • Read grade stakes, following site grading and operations plans, and working in a medium-to-fine grade setting.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles used to transport it to/from project sites.
  • Drive or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site.
  • Ensure sites are kept clean and safe.
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and in top performance condition.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading it.
  • Perform other construction duties as needed.
  • Basic qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent experience).
  • Current licenses and certifications.
  • OSHA training.
  • 1-5 years of experience in managing construction projects equipment operations.
  • Ability to travel, operate and manage project site equipment operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and lead equipment operations.
  • Proven working experience in construction equipment operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction equipment operations, means, and methods.
  • Knowledgeable in equipment capabilities, cycle times, building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with construction equipment maintenance and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies.
  • Familiarity USA, digging permits, and other associated regulations surrounding equipment operations.
  • Knowledge of worksite safety and a champion/living example of best practices
  • Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years working knowledge of energy storage construction.
  • 5+ years Integrated and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or other utility-scale power projects in power stations.
