Your Impact as a QA QC Field Engineer - APAC:
The QA QC Field Engineer leads and manages field quality assurance and engineering activities for BESS projects. This role ensures that all field engineering and quality processes are executed efficiently, meet regulatory and safety standards, and align with the project’s and company's goals. The manager acts as the primary liaison between the field operations, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Your Mission:
Quality Assurance:Develop and implement field quality assurance (QA) plans, procedures and standards to ensure project compliance with industry regulations or best practicesConduct field inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field teams, subcontractor and suppliers, ensuring all equipment and materials delivered to site are inspected and documentedIdentify and resolve quality issues by coordinating with engineering and field teams to implement corrective actionsAmend quality control (QC) processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings that may arise ensuring that inspection and test plans are adjusted to suit.Review and maintain project quality recordsMonitor supplier quality performance, including making recommendations to senior leadership for actions for underperforming suppliersAssist in the preparation and conduct of any quality trials and prepare any associated records, procedure, registersOversee the development and approval of non-destructive test procedures by sub-contractors and maintain recordsWhere requested, participate in the assessment of tenders submitted by contractors and other suppliers and their ability to comply with the quality conditions outlined in the contract and prequalification requirementsUndertake technical review of client specifications with respect to QC issues and make recommendations as requiredDevelop inspection and test plans (ITPs) ensuring they meet head contract requirementsAmend QC processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings that may arise ensuring that inspection and test plans are adjusted to suitCollect data from verification documentsRepresent EV with respect to QA/ QC issues with the clientRepresent EV with respect to QC issues with subcontractors/suppliersManage field inspection activitiesUndertake internal reviews of QC areas on the projectDevelop and manage project QA/QC audit scheduleImplement data collection processes including manual and electronic systemsPrepare procedures as necessaryControl the issue and recovery of all QC instruments on the projectMaintain a register of QC instruments including calibration statusEngineering Management:Lead efforts to address design or engineering issues identified during project construction and commissioning phasesCollaborate with project management, design and product teams to ensure that field engineering solutions are practical, cost-effective, and meet customer requirementsReview and approve field engineering plans, designs, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standardsProject Management:Oversee field projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standardsCoordinate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of field activitiesMonitor project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting any risks or issuesCompliance:Ensure that all field operations adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.Conduct quality audits (e.g., ISO 9001) and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures (nice to have)Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring that the company remains compliantStakeholder Communication:Serve as the point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding field quality and engineering mattersProvide technical support and expertise to customers, addressing any concerns related to quality or field performanceContinuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement in field operations and engineering practicesLead initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve the quality of construction & field testingYour Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Civil) or equivalent experience3+ years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, or project management, with at least 1 year of PV or BESS project experienceDeep knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, engineering standards, and industry regulationsProven experience in managing field operationsCertification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plusISO9001 awareness and implementation experience Excellent auditing skills and formal audit qualificationPrevious experience/exposure to the ISO 9001 accreditation processesWorking knowledge of construction safety digital platforms (e.g., Procore)White cardExcellent communication, people skills, and emotional intelligenceOrganization skills, attention to detail, a desire for efficiencyTechnical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering principles relevant to BESS projects, field operations, and quality assurance practicesProblem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in the fieldExperience in document control processes and proceduresExcellent planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skillsAttention to detail and good administration skillsInitiative and follow up skillsWillingness to travel (~10% of the time; the rest of the time will be on site in Uralla)Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, if requiredComfortable in fast-paced, rapid-growth environmentsA passion for sustainability, our mission, and our vision is a bonus!
