What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is seeking a detail-oriented Solutions Engineer to work with our automotive, fleet, navigation providers and technology channel partners and customers to build software applications that leverage our technology in the rapidly evolving e-mobility space. This role will be at the forefront to define the next generation of user experience within different types of electric mobility avenues. The Solutions Engineer will work directly with Business Development/Sales, Product Management and Engineering to drive the direction of our products to support these key initiatives.  The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for building relationships with ChargePoint internal/third party developers, creating application examples using ChargePoint APIs and tools, product documentation, and training material, and solve difficult technical integration problems.  ChargePoint has a wide variety of partners and customers in this fast-paced industry, and the Applications Engineer will work with Automotive, Fleets, Navigation Providers, and other data partners. 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • The Solutions Engineer will work closely with Automotive/Fleet/Utility Business Development/Sales teams and lead as the technical expert on mainly ChargePoint’s software and at-times hardware product packages.
  • Take on leadership role as customer-facing technical expert for ChargePoint’s driver experience technology applications.
  • Responsible as point person with Product and Engineering teams to define incoming/new market requirements and work with internal stakeholders to define roadmap and deliver.
  • Provide developer support for API integration projects in all areas of the platform.
  • Develop technical content and application examples using ChargePoint technology and third-party systems.
  • Lead technical discussions with ChargePoint engineering and customer engineering staff members to enable integrations with customers.
  • Leads the maintenance of day-to-day operations of various applications and works with the engineering team to ensure technical issues are resolved on time to meet customer schedules and program commitments.
  • Leads in the customization and addition of new features to commercial software packages and internally developed applications according to end user requests when needed.
  • Writes and performs tests for applications, fixes problems as they arise, and assists with partner launches.
  • Writes technical documentation and works with the technical documentation team.
  • Travel 10-25% of your time for face-to-face meetings with partners and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering/product development, ideally in a customer-facing role or mix of business development/sales engineering
  • 5+ years of experience writing code.
  • High energy, can-do attitude.
  • Proficiency with a few common programming languages such as Java, Go, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of API standards and protocols such as SOAP, XML, REST, JSON, etc.
  • Linux command line experience.
  • Proven track record for solving ambiguous and complex problems.
  • Experience in automotive/commercial vehicle/fleet/electric vehicle space.
  • Strong evidence in prior roles of bias to action.

Location

  • US Remote

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $45,000 to $100,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
