About the Role
We're looking for a highly analytical and proactive Finance Associate to take a leading role in shaping our financial planning, decision support, and operational insights. This elevated position goes beyond traditional FP&A, integrating strategic analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and systems thinking to help Lightship scale.
You’ll partner closely with teams across the organization to deliver the insights that drive smarter, faster decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step into a more strategic role with visibility across the leadership team.
Onsite/Hybrid Work

Responsibilities
Own and evolve financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelingDrive strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis, business case development, and performance measurementPartner cross-functionally to support cost control strategies and ROISupport product development teams by modeling investment trade-offs and resourcing plansDevelop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into business performanceLead monthly Budget vs. Actuals (BvA) reviews with stakeholders, communicating insights and guiding resource allocationAutomate and improve internal finance processes through better systems, documentation, and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Excel models)Support long-term planning with scenario modeling and capital allocation frameworksBuild trust and accountability with leaders across the business by being a reliable, data-driven thought partnerMinimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or consultingStrong working knowledge of 3-statement financial modelsDemonstrated ability to manage complex processes and communicate with non-finance stakeholdersPrevious financial experience in hardware or manufacturing sectorsHigh attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots between granular data and company-wide strategyA proactive and resourceful approach—you don’t wait for instructions; you seek clarity, build, and iterateExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindsetPreferred Qualifications
