This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.

This position will be within the new Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s software technology uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are responding optimally to price signals sent by the market.

As the Director of Software Engineering, you will provide technology leadership and partner with cross-functional teams to guide architectural and design decisions across our platform. You will be able to identify the most impactful projects, proactively remove impediments, and successfully drive towards key initiatives. You are skilled at mentorship and coaching, and passionate about growing other leaders. Building and maintaining strong relationships and confidence with both customers and business leaders are critically important responsibilities for this role.

Key responsibilities include:

•Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, and operations peers to create alignment and deliver on objectives for the Fluence Digital platform

•Establish and communicate best practices and standards in engineering to ensure best in class operations

•Coach, mentor, and grow engineering team members with a focus on cultivating teams that autonomously and consistently own business outcomes

•Identify and address any current and future skill gaps through mentorship, education, and hiring

•Communicate technology concepts to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists and software engineers

•Model and cultivate a culture of inclusivity, trust, exceptional communication, collaboration, respect, continuous learning, and enthusiasm for our work
