You have successfully built a culture of EH&S engagement and continuous improvement in an organization that brings new technology from R&D to Industrial Manufacturing. Sila's growth and success in technology development will depend on your proactive and effective approach, combined with your success in leading a team that implements highly-utilized environmental, health, and safety compliance programs. You are a respected technical leader who empowers and inspires others through knowledge transfer and your commitment to learn from those doing the work. Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead an experienced, high-performing EH&S team in developing and supporting personnel across the organization with a goal to empower others and create a distributed safety culture. Provide leadership and direction for the company within all areas of environmental, health, and safety.
- Develop, implement, and continually refresh a company-wide EH&S roadmap and business model that ensures we strategically identify needs, opportunities, and delivery of support.
- Align the organization, leadership, and new employees on a common safety vision and ensure proper engagement across all aspects of the organization.
- Manage and implement programs that meet the vision and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Build for those that use them by partnering with managers, supervisors, and employees to understand occupational health and safety risks and by integrating concepts that empower and sustain safe work habits and behaviors across all levels of the organization.
- Support the company in the development, improvement, and management of EH&S Management Systems for Sila. Develop and implement continuous improvement concepts to better the site's safety and environmental performance.
- Hire, coach, and support talent through consistent feedback, navigation of challenges, and celebration of wins
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in EH&S and leadership roles
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Occupational Health or a relevant technical discipline.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, listening, communication, and analytical skills with an affinity for mentoring and developing others.
- Experience with industrial workplace hazards, corresponding programs, hazardous materials, and challenges with scaling processes and designing new tools.
- High volume manufacturing experience in semiconductor, PV, chemical industry, batteries or similar is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and key design codes, including but not limited to PSM, NFPA, and CGA.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
The starting base pay for this role is between $190,000 and $239,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. #LI-Onsite
