Who You Are

The Vice President of People and Culture holds a senior leadership position, driving the development and implementation of strategies aimed at fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture. This role encompasses oversight of human resources, talent management, workplace experience, and organizational development, working closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment with the company's overarching goals and objectives. Responsibilities include cultivating a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and spearheading initiatives to attract, retain, and nurture top talent.

Success in this role hinges on the ability to think strategically and collaborate effectively, offering a forward-thinking vision for scaling the company while upholding and communicating its vision, mission, and values. The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of strategic acumen and hands-on experience, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties  

  • Partner with executive leadership to build and maintain a high performing organization and culture that executes effectively on goals and objectives
  • Act as an accessible, approachable, and values-driven resource to employees throughout the organization, establishing and maintaining strong relationships
  • Lead and empower a team of experienced HR professionals to execute People & Culture strategies that support the company’s goals and objectives
  • Implement streamlined processes and innovative technologies to enhance people operations efficiency, ensuring seamless administration of HR functions while prioritizing employee experience and satisfaction
  • Establish robust compliance protocols, including audits and training, to ensure adherence to employment laws, mitigating legal risks and fostering an ethical workplace
  • Strengthen and evolve our total rewards philosophy and leadership practices to inspire, attract, and retain high-performing talent
  • Establish strategic partnerships with industry networks, universities, and talent pipelines while fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to attract top-tier candidates and cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, regulatory shifts, and advancements in HR, talent management, and employment law. Utilize this insight to effectively communicate policy changes, best practices, and resource updates to leadership
  • Oversee headcount planning processes to align with company goals, optimizing resource allocation for scalability and growth within budget

Knowledge and Skill Requirements 

  • Demonstrated success in leading the HR function for growing organizations overseeing multiple locations, including domestic and international
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish trust with all levels of the organization, especially with senior leadership and other key decision makers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Proven success in leading strategic initiatives, managing large, complex projects or programs across diverse teams or organizations, often concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels using data, clear communication, and strategic negotiation tactics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including effective presentation abilities across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates integrity and discretion in managing confidential information
  • 10+ years of relevant experience leading a People Team or HR function, including experience at a technology and manufacturing company
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Extensive California labor law knowledge required
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Flexibility to travel up to 10%
  • Commits to a standard five-day workweek, with office presence required
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location

 

The starting base pay for this role is between $243,000 and $308,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. #LI-FM1 #LI-Onsite
