Contract and Procurement Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contract & Procurement Manager to join ChargePoint. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the ChargePoint’s strategic goals. As a key player in vendor management and contract negotiations, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize supplier performance, mitigate risks, and secure agreements. This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to influence procurement strategies and drive continuous improvements across our supply chain.

What You Will Be Doing

• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:
• Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align internal and external stakeholders.
• Be part of the supplier selection and negotiation process, ensuring that contracts and agreements align with business objectives and provide the best value.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies, product life cycles, and market trends. Monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and capture opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Contract Development & Management:
• Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and quality standards.
• Manage contract performance, ensuring all deliverables and terms are met, resolving issues and disputes in a timely manner.
• Market Analysis & Risk Management:
• Stay informed on market trends, including supply constraints, pricing changes, and emerging risks, and take action accordingly.
• Apply deep knowledge of procurement processes to mitigate supply chain risks, anticipate market fluctuations, and guide decision-making on supplier management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Act as the commercial authority on cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth coordination between procurement, finance, engineering, and operations.
• Support the implementation of global product development strategies to meet business and operational requirements.
• Work with internal stakeholders to align procurement efforts with long-term business goals, ensuring effective sourcing, quality standards, and cost controls.

What You Will Bring

• Expertise & Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contract management, with a minimum of 5 years in direct responsibility for vendor and contract management.
• Deep understanding of strategic sourcing tools and practices, including negotiation strategy, product life cycle management, and cross-functional coordination.
• Proven experience working with large OEMs, contract manufacturers (CMs), and electronics market players in sourcing supply and services.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and optimize supplier performance.
• Industry Knowledge & Skills:
• Experience in sourcing custom mechanical or power electronics and working with charging equipment is a strong advantage.
• Comfort in working without a script and proactive in problem-solving, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management tools and best practices, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and innovate in sourcing strategies.
• Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel up to ~20% across Europe as needed for supplier visits and sourcing activities.
• Personality:
• Flexible mindset able to cope with high degrees of ambiguity
• Tenacious and result oriented, able to influence internal and external stakeholders to accept change
