About the company:

Plants are the most efficient way to drawdown CO2.  
We convert CO2 via plants into stable carbon and lock it away for 1000 years.
Producing carbon credits, heat and biochar.
We use a patented technology to convert this carbon from waste plant biomass and in the process release heat (renewable energy) and high-quality biochar (used for agricultural purposes and industrial uses).  

We are looking for a Communications specialist who is passionate about climate science and has experience in both visual design and copywriting. You should also be a fast learner and eager to know more about the carbon removal space.

Carbo Culture is a carbon removal technology developer on a mission to solve climate change by permanently removing CO2. We are headquartered in Helsinki with a subsidiary and operations in the UK and the US. Our team is mostly remote, but we make it a priority to meet for team or company wide summits. We work closely together online across time zones using tools such as Slack, Zoom, Asana and Google Suite.

As a Communications Specialist, you will support the business development team with brand and communications. You would collaborate on our global communications and PR, as well as ensure our collateral and content follow our overall brand narrative to all of our stakeholders.

This is a temporary contract position with an initial duration of 3-6 months. However, there is a potential for extension to a permanent role based on the individual's performance and the company's needs as we grow.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company's brand guidelines and ensure that all communication materials adhere to these standards
  • Develop and execute a variety of communication materials, including brochures, presentations, infographics, social media graphics, and website content
  • Edit/re-purpose across formats (infographics) to drive engagement, reach and resonance
  • Communicate and build relationships with internal stakeholders on their content needs
  • Act as a point-of-contact for creative support to the team

Ideal candidate:

  • Strong visual design skills and some copywriting experience
  • Experience in communications and PR at an agency, start-up/company, or climate tech company is a bonus
  • Ability to navigate complex situations, work with a multidisciplinary team, and learn on the go
  • You are a self-starter, builder, and motivated by the work
  • You are eager to learn, level-up your skill set and grow with the company
  • You know your way around Google Suite, Keynote, Typeform, Slack, social media, and are on top of visual tools, or quick to learn
  • You are deeply passionate about climate tech and about what we do.
