What you’ll do:
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class team with expertise in developing flight-critical software complying with DO-178C.
- Coordinate flight software development, verification, and certification of the aerospace powertrain, including motor control.
- Participate in the definition and documentation of streamlined software development and verification processes supporting certifying safety critical software and complying with DO-178C.
- Collaborate with the certification and safety team to develop the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC).
- Guide the architecture and design of the software developed in-house to facilitate testing and analysis.
- Take the software through Stages of Involvement (SOI) audits 1 to 4, and meet all DO-178C objectives.
- Oversee the qualification of the tools to DO-330.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI), continuously monitor and improve our processes to ensure compliance, and increase safety and efficiency.
- Foster team collaboration and promote and support personal development.
What you need:
- 10+ years of experience in a related field, including experience managing teams.
- At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree.
- Proficiency with C
- Hands-on experience developing safety-critical software for DAL-A or B
- Experience with DO-178C and DO-330 standards
- Hands-on experience through the Full Software Development Life Cycle in the aviation industry
- Familiarity with diverse tools and technologies used for the development, testing, and analysis of DO-178C software
- Involvement in SOI audits
- Excellent organizational and communication skills

- Experience working on software for motor control systems
- Experience with DO-254
- Proficiency with C++
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with modeling tools/certification (DO-331)
- Familiarity with formal methods (DO-333)
- Familiarity with modeling tools like UML or SysML

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $163,200 - 204,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
