What you will be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing testing team at Breathe where we are building a world-class battery testing facility in London to output high quality data. You will work across the laboratory to deliver the test data that underpins our product development and validation, with responsibilities ranging from executing tests on both internal and external facing projects, developing custom test hardware and software as required to support testing activities and implementing processes to improve testing quality and reliability.

We will provide the support and training to develop your skills and experience in battery testing, and the opportunity to work with some of the world's largest and most recognised brands in automotive and consumer electronics. Our current customers include OPPO, Rimac and Cosworth to name a few

Your responsibilities

  • Plan and execute testing end-to-end on multiple client- and internal-facing projects while ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Develop test plans in collaboration with other teams, analyse test data and communicate outcomes
  • Develop, procure and implement custom test hardware as required
  • Implement improvements to Test Engineering processes and documentation to ensure quality, consistency and reliability of testing
  • Identify, design and implement improvements to our test facility including improvements to our hardware and our overall testing system
  • Help maintain a safe working environment in our laboratory by contributing to safety management

Requirements

  • Batchelor's or higher degree in engineering or other technical subject. We will consider equivalent qualifications e.g. level 6 National Vocational Qualification
  • Can-do and practical approach to laboratory work with a strong ability to problem solve
  • Ability to project manage, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding timelines, testing issues and delivery requirements
  • Ability to design, build and use custom test hardware and electronics
  • Experience using MATLAB for data analysis is essential. Experience using Git is desirable
  • Experience implementing and using quality management processes in a commercial test setting is desirable
  • Experience with battery testing is desirable
  • Willingness to work from our laboratory in London 4 days per week
