We are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer who will:

The responsibilities and duties of the Battery Systems - Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be as follows:

 This role will serve as the a key point of contact when designing and communicating Manufacturing solutions for all production and prototype battery builds. In this role you will:

  • Working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure the suitable processes and procedures are designed to meet the overall battery build requirements.
  • Working as part of a small team, you will need to be confident in making decisions and working both strategically and tactically, looking towards planning the overall battery manufacturing production solution whilst maintaining a day to day hands on approach to supporting and improving prototype build activities.
  • You need have experience of assembly of complex battery units and sub-assemblies alongside relevant control systems in order to translate engineering design intent into manufacturing process and identify control requirements
  • This role will require both adaptability to processes on the shop floor during prototype build, but also planning skills to translate engineering releases into production and assembly methods.
  • The role requires the raising of paperwork associated with deviation from the formalised build process, working with the engineers and build team to ensure records are created and maintained, along with raising appropriate concern/corrective action records.
  • This role will require the candidate to effectively check and feedback on engineering design release data, identifying areas which need to be modified or enhanced to ensure all manufacturing information is included in the final release. Therefore a knowledge of GD&T and standardised design release information would be an advantage.
  • You will need to create suitable manufacturing requirements to ensure the final product meets both engineering specification and also to ensure Manufacturability and repeatability at higher production volume targets.  
  • You are a team player that has great communication skills. 

The successful candidate will have the following Experience & Qualifications:

We seek a unique individual, who can integrate into a fast paced and highly adaptive environment. A career background in aerospace or automotive manufacturing engineering or advanced manufacturing would be particularly advantageous, together with an interest in green technology and/or aviation. You will need:

  • Degree or suitable experience in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven capability of assembly and build principles of battery packs and integrated HV systems.
  • A demonstrable track record of working in a advanced manufacturing team, with expertise in assembly process creation and implementation.
  • Technical signature in manufacturing assembly and build principles
  • Ability to solve new problems in a fast paced start-up environment
  • Experience of developing manufacturing processes and requirements
  • IT skills and experience of Catia and 3D Experience would be a benefit
