We are looking for an Advanced Battery Systems Engineer who will:

Day to day work is undertaken with a significant degree of independence and initiative, with supervision and guidance from accountable manager on longer range planning and unusual problems. Uses strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain excellent relationships with other engineers, both internal and external to vertical, to ensure work is aligned with wider engineering effort. Other functions of the business are supported or consulted for advice where needed (e.g. programme, marketing, finance, legal, procurement etc).

The responsibilities and duties of the Advanced Battery Systems Engineer will be as follows:

  • Responsible for all batteries in the field including, storage, service and maintenance.  
  • Approval for battery design relevant in use operations 
  • Specify, design and build commissioning rings for integration testing
  • Emulate CANbus nodes using CANoe or Speedgoat 
  • Support flight test campaign
  • Assist with root cause analysis for failures 
  • Process raw test data, and analyse and interpret test results 
  • Supporting the Test team as required to explore and validate technical solutions 
  • Develop operational and service manuals for the battery system 
  • Responsible for battery operational requirements  
  • Develop service training materials for the battery system in use  

The successful Advanced Battery Systems Engineer will have the following Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Experience with complex system integrations  
  • Experience with communication protocols (CANbus, Ethernet) 
  • Experience with Cell and Battery pack integration and testing  
  • Experience with hybrid system integration  
  • Experience with HV Systems
