Zoox is transforming mobility-as-a-service by developing a fully autonomous, purpose-built fleet designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy.
We are looking for an engineering-focused vehicle technician to support the readiness of our fleet vehicles. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, as well as contribute towards the overall operations of our organization. This includes scheduled service, diagnostics, repair coordination, lab space fit/function, and general upkeep. Please note this role does require Saturday, Sunday, and weekday evening support. Schedule is Thursday through Monday, 11am to 8pm.
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $40/hr to $66/hr. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position. In this role, you will:
Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage. May need to travel locally to perform this work from time to timeSync with teammates to ensure all vehicles are in a “ready” state for missionsCoordinate and drive the repair process, ensuring validation steps and documentation are in orderMaintain shop facilities, ensure tools are in order, and the workspace is in excellent working conditionAssist with parts inventory, location, and organizationBuild an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partnersQualifications:
Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehiclesMinimum of 4 - 6 years of automotive repair experienceClean/excellent driving recordReliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethosAbility to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverablesMust be honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicator with excellent written and verbal skillsPreferred Qualifications
Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e. Dyno, Battery, etc.)Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams and soldering preferred Experience with Linux, Canalyzer, and engineering interfaces Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repairAbility to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)
