About the company:

Phlair is a direct air capture (DAC) technology company focused on developing low-cost, scalable solutions for removing carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere. The company's core innovation is the Hydrolyzer, an electrochemical device that enables energy-efficient generation of acid and base as part of its DAC process. Phlair's technology is designed to be fully compatible with intermittent, behind-the-meter renewable electricity such as solar power, distinguishing it from many other DAC approaches that require continuous or grid-supplied energy. Founded in 2022 by Malte, Paul, and Steffen, Phlair's mission is to develop the most cost-effective and scalable direct air capture technology available. The company serves both carbon credit buyers seeking verified, permanent carbon removal and project developers looking to deploy DAC technology for storage, utilization, or point source capture applications. Phlair is progressing through a staged scale-up roadmap, with its Electra 01 pilot capturing 10 tCO2 per year in Germany in early 2025, followed by the Electra 02 system targeting up to 20 tCO2 per year in Canada by late 2025, and a larger Dawn project planned for 15,000+ tCO2 per year by 2030 and beyond. Phlair has attracted notable partnerships and customers, including a deployment agreement with Canadian carbon removal developer Deep Sky and a deal with Frontier, a prominent advance market commitment for carbon removal. The company has grown to over 30 employees and holds ISO 9001 certification, reflecting its commitment to quality and execution in the emerging carbon removal industry.

🌎 We're solving humanity's biggest challenge, and it takes everything we've got.

The world needs more energy, not less. Fossil fuels powered our economy for decades, at the cost of our planet. At Phlair, we're inverting that equation with breakthrough electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology that pulls CO₂ from the air for permanent storage or repurposing into carbon-negative chemicals.

We're not here to play it safe. We're here to win.

Why We’re Different?

We solve hard problems and are product-first. Our hydrolyzer-based Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, enabling scalable and low-cost CO2 capture from ambient air. The electrochemical technology allows off-the-shelf components and is ideally suited to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources.

With proven offtake agreements from customers such as Google, McKinsey, JPMorganChase, Shopify, Stripe, H&M, and Deep Sky; we're one of only seven DAC companies with real market validation.

Project Dawn isn't just our flagship; it's our shot to scale CO₂ removal globally.

Is this a fit for me?

We're building for the 3-5% who are energized by winning and thrive under pressure. Our pace demands people who see excellence as non-negotiable and execution as everything. We cherish work-life-harmony, not balance. If you need extensive structure or prefer playing it safe, we're probably not the right fit.

Don't tick every box? We value potential and spikes over perfect resumes. If you believe you can contribute to our mission at this intensity level, tell us why.

Do you thrive on doing more with less?
