Your role and your team:
You will report to the Manager of Technical Publications and work closely with several cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Chief Engineering, Flight Testing, Commercial, and Maintenance.
You will have the rare opportunity to create best-in-class technical manuals that will enable the certification and operation of an iconic eVTOL jet. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining technical manuals within Lilium’s Design Organisation.
You will work with autonomy and in collaboration with our team of technical authors to deliver high-quality publications to support all phases of our aircraft design and operation.
Your day to day:
- Plan, develop, and maintain aircraft manuals, including AMM, SRM, CMM, and IPC
- Review design data and other source material to gather and synthesize information required for manuals
- Work with illustrators to prepare and select illustrations for manuals
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant technical instructions are captured, articulated, and published to support effective and safe operations of our aircraft
- Review and edit documents produced by peer authors and engineers, particularly in relation to content organization, style, audience, and consistency of format
- Analyze and prioritize technical feedback from reviewers and implement necessary changes to the documentation
- Create and maintain DMRLs, stylesheets, and business rules for existing and new publications
- Provide support to technical authors and illustrators in terms of S1000D familiarization, training, tool support, and troubleshooting
- Work with line manager, PLM team, software developers, and vendors to administer, manage, and improve the S1000D toolchain
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Technical Publications tools, processes, and methods
Your profile:
- 3 ~ 8 years of experience authoring and maintaining aircraft manuals
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; aerospace-related education or AME license would be a plus
- Proficient with XML-based authoring tools (e.g., ArborText Editor, XMetal), Teamcenter, SharePoint, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat
- Comprehensive knowledge of S1000D specification and its pragmatic implementation
- Hands on experience in CSDB management, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Familiar with ATA and ASD-STE100 specifications
- Strong attention to detail and personal organization
- Ability to manage priorities, and a proactive approach to resolving problems and delivering results
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-changing, dynamic, and multi-cultural environment
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
