As a Systems Integration Engineer at Moxion, you will be an integral member of the Systems Integration team responsible for ensuring the seamless incorporation of new hardware and software components into our battery energy storage systems. You will collaborate closely with the Test and Validation team to conduct feature testing, identify system-level issues, and contribute to the overall enhancement of our products' reliability, performance, and safety.

Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements.  We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience.  Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change. 

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Hardware Engineering, Software Development, and Test and Validation, to define and execute integration testing strategies for new physical and software components.
  • Participate in the assembly and installation of new components into battery energy storage systems, ensuring proper physical integration and compatibility.
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the functionality and performance of integrated systems, focusing on specific features and capabilities.
  • Conduct system-level testing to identify and troubleshoot issues related to component integration, communication protocols, and overall system behavior.
  • Collaborate with the Test and Validation team to analyze test results, diagnose system-level defects, and contribute to the development of solutions and improvements.
  • Document test procedures, findings, and integration issues in a clear and organized manner, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
  • Work with the Systems Integration team to continuously enhance testing methodologies, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in the evaluation of third-party components and technologies for integration into battery energy storage systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to battery energy storage systems and systems integration.
  • Skills to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronics principles, including circuitry and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with battery energy storage systems, renewable energy technologies, and associated components.
  • Basic knowledge of software development concepts and programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++).
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex system-level issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to document procedures and communicate findings.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, with a proactive approach to contributing within a cross-functional environment.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Previous experience or coursework in systems integration, testing, or validation.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols used in battery energy storage systems, such as CAN, Modbus, or Ethernet.
  • Exposure to software testing methodologies and tools, including test automation.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and visualization techniques.
