Responsibilities
Creation of surface models for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulationsBuilding robust parametric aero surface modelsCarry out Computer Aided Styling (CAS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) reviewsGenerate CAD models as required for structural analysisClean and modify CAD models for structural simulationsWork closely with the Aerodynamics, Structural and Thermal Engineers within the Analysis team, along with the Industrial Designers and Surface Modellers in the product teamsUpdate and maintain best practice CAS & CAD guidelinesTrain and mentor Designers and Surface ModellersCollaborate with the Rapid Engineering Design (RED) team to assist with the automation of processes and workflowsReport status and escalate conflicts to the Lead Surface Design EngineerSkills
Degree in Design, Engineering, or PhysicsExcellent team-worker, who is agile, proactive, and has a "startup" attitudeExperience in PLM and PDM systemsExperience with Siemens NXExperience creating models for internal and external aerodynamic simulationsKnowledge of aerodynamics, CFD and structural analysis methodsEngineering background and understanding is advantageousTrack record demonstrating creativity and ingenuity
