We're looking for a Supply Planning Manager, who will help drive our next stage of growth by ensuring we have the right volume of available procured vehicles in order to meet our sales targets.

By owning our forecasts to help procure large volumes of both new and nearly new (used) vehicles, as well as playing an important role in discussions with key stakeholders regarding delivery forecasting, you will be a crucial part of Octopus Electric Vehicles, in a key area for our growth aspirations. 

Working closely with the Head of Commercial Development and the Procurement team, this role will help to drive growth through the interrogation of our sales performance data to establish crucial models that we need to secure supply, help with market analysis and, ultimately, suggest required procurement activities. This role will work closely with the rest of the Supply team to ensure smart pricing of our procured vehicles as well as ensuring we sell through our supply in a timely manner. 

If you’re someone with a good grasp of strategic thinking as well as a keen interest in commercial performance, an understanding of customer EV buying patterns and an ability to analyse and present on large data sets, this role could be the one for you!

What you'll do...

  • Forecasting of the required volume of new & nearly new (used) electric vehicle procurement activity
  • Have significant involvement in delivery forecasting to help with new activity decision making
  • Work with the Supply Analyst to understand current exposure / risks
  • Own supply related reporting (creation & maintenance)
  • Produce weekly updates / reports for key stakeholders within the Growth function
  • Occasionally attend OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) events / meetings on behalf of Octopus EV
  • Create OEM pitch decks - collaborating with Head of Procurement & OEM Engagement
  • Daily interrogation of sales data from our CRM and other sources
  • Constantly evolve and improve our processes to ensure the smooth selling of supply cars in our business
  • Organise and transform information from analysis into comprehensible structures
  • Build a good understanding of the EV market
  • Provide a commercial outlook from what the data tells us of our performance
  • Research ways our section and division can continue to evolve and improve in our usage of data when it comes to supply
  • Act as the key point of contact between Growth, Operations and Finance sections of our business when it comes to selling supply vehicles

  • A strong passion for Electric Vehicles / green energy and decarbonisation
  • A genuine passion for going above and beyond for the wider team
  • An ability to show a completer / finisher mentality and an understanding of processes as a whole, being able to see the why behind each section of the business and how that creates the entire vision
  • A start up / entrepreneurial mind-set being able to adjust to change and keep up with a fast moving business
  • A constant focus on improving and developing personally and within a business
  • Experience with a CRM - this is a bonus
