Staff Battery Systems Test & Validation Engineer, Stationary Storage

Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.&nbsp;</p></div><p><strong>THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Specify battery system design validation plans, including battery management system</li> <li>Own the execution of various battery tests in Rivian and third-party facilities</li> <li>Develop test procedures that define instrumentation, fixturing, test environment, etc.</li> <li>Own the execution of various BMS tests including algorithm verification and regression tests</li> <li>Analyze test data and results vs. system and sub-system requirements and validation plan objectives</li> <li>Ensure data quality from executed tests</li> <li>Support failure analysis activities of prototype and production representative test assets</li> <li>Automate processes where applicable</li> <li>Identify and, in partnership with management and EHS, mitigate safety issues<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline</li> <li>5+ years of experience with battery systems, with at least 2 years in test and validation</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of battery test equipment, test methods, and test specifications</li> <li>Experience with configuring and testing battery management circuits / systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with CANalyzer, CANape</li> <li>Strong knowledge of fixture design, fabrication methods, and test equipment</li> <li>Previous experience in a role requiring test plan development and equipment selection and specification</li> <li>Experience working with medium and high voltage systems</li> <li>Product launch experience from early prototypes to volume production</li> <li>Previous experience with stationary energy storage systems is a plus</li> <li>Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)</li> <li>~20% Domestic and/or International Travel</li> </ul> <p><strong>THIS IS WHERE YOU’LL WORK:</strong></p> <p>Department: Stationary Energy Storage</p> <p>Location:&nbsp; Irvine, CA</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Rivian Description:</strong></p> <p>Rivian&nbsp;is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever.
