We are currently seeking an Staff Accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. You will be ensuring accuracy of our financial information, providing assurance that our accounting practices adhere to regulations, and performing general ledger entries and account reconciliations. To ensure success for this position, you should demonstrate sound knowledge of best practices in general ledger accounting and experience in a similar role. An ideal candidate in this role will be someone with automotive/manufacturing industry and/or public company background.

The Role:
Prepare and manage general ledger entries related to various general ledger accountsReconcile balance sheet accounts related to Prepaids, Accruals, Deposits, Deferred Rent, etc. at period end to ensure balances are fully supportedPerform account analysis to ensure journal entries and balances are correctReview lease agreements and prepare deferred rent schedules including ST and LT classification of such balances and release of such deferred rent into P&LPrepare quarterly cash flows on a consolidated basisAssist with implementation of processes and control in accordance with SOX compliance. Evaluate processes/controls to improve efficiency (through various techniques such as process streamlining and/or automation) and effectiveness on a continuous basis.Work with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of annual audits.Work effectively in a high growth environment and demonstrate strong analytical, excel, and problem-solving skills.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters.Special projects and other ad hoc assignments as assignedQualifications:
7+ years experience in General ledger accounting or similar is preferredRelevant background in publicly traded automotive industry or manufacturing companies (preferred)Excellent MS Excel skills Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people effectively Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or the equivalent in experience. Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance.CPA preferred but not requiredWorking knowledge of SAP is a plus
