About the role.... 

The Sr. Systems Engineer role is an opportunity to design, implement, and manage operational IT infrastructure and XaaS products across multiple sites in a high growth IT organization. This new role establishes IT Operations expertise as we continue to grow. The Sr Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This individual will also mentor and provide guidance to the IT Operations Team. 

This role will work directly with IT Leadership to ensure the long-term success of IT at Inari.  

The role is located at our site in Belgium, Ghent. 

As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you are responsible for  

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with IT operations staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes 
  • Work with leadership team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues 

Acquisition & Deployment  

  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions 
  • Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts 
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services 

Operational Management  

  • Manage operational technologies such as network infrastructure, IAM, and XaaS offerings such as Microsoft 365 
  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor license utilization, prepare for future growth 
  • Help build and train the growing IT Operations team
  • Manage the design, deployment, and administration of new and existing systems
  • Act as an escalation point for technical troubleshooting
  • Analyze data and create reports to assess adherence to IT metrics
  • Plan and implement system automation to improve operational efficiency
  • Proactively work to improve reliability, stability, and security of the cloud and on-premises environments
  • Create and update technical documentation
  • Provide technical support for ongoing system maintenance
  • Stay current on technology trends and best practices as they relate to Inari IT 

You Bring… 

  • 8 – 12 years of work experience in a technology role with increasing responsibility 
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in a systems engineer or infrastructure admin role 
  • 5+ years’ experience with network, IAM, Microsoft 365, and general cloud administration 
  • Industry recognized certifications such as CCNA or MCSE are advantageous 
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, concise manner 
  • Knowledge of systems engineering software tools 
  • A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions 
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning 
  • Creative and strategic thinking, willingness to be bold and take risks, and the ability to recognize and learn from failure 
  • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback
  • Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences
  • Project management skills
  • Customer service orientation
